It is our pleasure to welcome you to Spices Mediterranean Kitchen. This premier dining establishment in Chandler, Arizona, has opened its doors for business this past June 18th of 2007 and we have been extremely gratified with the response to our Mediterranean cuisine.

Owner Etgar Wagner draws from his heritage and prepares recipes handed down from his parents to share with you the authentic foods that he grew up with as a child. We hope to see you at Spices soon.

Mediterranean cuisine is the cuisine of the areas around the Mediterranean Sea. Given the geography, these nation-states have influenced each other over time and the cooking evolved into sharing common principles. The terrain has tended to favor the raising of goats and sheep. Olive oil, produced from the olive trees prominent throughout Greece, Turkey, Italy, Portugal, Spain and other Mediterranean nations, adds to the distinctive taste of the food.

It is believed that ingredients in this kind of cooking, especially olive oil, are a major contributor to the longevity of the Mediterranean people.

Barbecue or grilled meats, pita bread, hummus, and falafel are very popular forms of the eastern type of the cuisine.
